Farewelling Raven Grimassi and Stephanie Taylor

It’s a sad time for San Diego. Pagan luminaries Raven Grimassi and Stephanie Taylor have moved to Massachusetts. Diana Disimone held a farewell party for them at her local store, Tree of Life, on Sunday 22 March 2009.

Not wanting to miss out, Jo and I drove down to see them off. We were pleasantly surprised when Jamie Martinez Wood breezed in. Despite the fact that the party was held on an evening before a work day, it was well attended and an enjoyable time was had by all.

Making Connections at PantheaCon 2009

There’s not much point in adding to the voluminous praises heaped upon San Jose’s PantheaCon. I will say, however, that it brings together a huge number of authors, presenters and pagans from all over the US and is a showcase of the diversity inherent within our community. There is so much to see and do, that it is impossible to avoid the disappointment of missing events due having to make too many choices. It would be very difficult to not have your own personal path enriched through contact with representatives of paths very different to your own.

In the years that I have been going to PantheaCon I’ve met some absolutely wonderful people who I feel very close to. They know who they are, and probably don’t need to see their names in print.

There is far more diversity in the pagan community in the US than in the Australian community from which I have come. Reconstructionists are as rare as hen’s teeth in Australia, (more…)

Welcome to my first ever blog.

My website has been down for the past three months or so for maintenance and a general revamp. My wife, Jo-Ann, and our good friend, Vikki Kundert, have been burning the midnight oil, slaving away at getting it back up in their spare time. While much of the website is back, there are still a couple of items on their “to do” list, notably all the event photos.

The new website is much sharper looking than the old one. To give an idea of just what has changed, here is a sampling. All the fonts have been changed. A multilayered emerald green lightning ball graphic was created as a source for all the tasteful borders throughout. (more…)
