As usual, the local pagans came out in force to check out numerous stalls and be entertained by some very talented performers.</span></span></p>

The ones whom I spotted were <a href="http://www.facebook.com/people/Ann-Finnin/100000351884020">Ann Finnin</a> and her husband <a href="http://www.witchvox.com/vn/vn_detail/dt_pa.html?a=usca&amp;id=17677">David</a>, co-founders of the <a href="http://www.witchvox.com/va/dt_va.html?a=usca&amp;c=trads&amp;id=3380">Roebuck Tradition</a>; author and agent, <a href="http://www.denisedumars.com/">Denise Dumars</a>; and, musician and author, <a href="http://kennyklein.net/">Kenny Klein</a>, and his wife, Anna.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 6pt;"><span style="line-height: 115%; font-size: 14pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 12.0pt;"><span style="font-family: Souvenir;">I spent an enjoyable day there, making myself available to chat about <a href="http://www.cherryhillseminary.org/">Cherry Hill Seminary</a> and the <a href="http://www.cherryhillseminary.org/WI2010Posch.html">Winter Conference</a>. I was assisted in my task by members of <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Covenant_of_the_Goddess">Covenant of the Goddess</a> who had Cherry Hill Seminary flyers on their table.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 6pt;"><span style="line-height: 115%; font-size: 14pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 12.0pt;"><span style="font-family: Souvenir;">The weather was quite pleasant, which contributed to a good turnout. While there were many familiar faces there, it was great to see some new people as well.</span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 6pt;"><span style="line-height: 115%; font-size: 14pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 12.0pt;"><span style="font-family: Souvenir;">This is a biannual event occuring at the solstices that has been serving to bring the Orange County pagan community together since 1987.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 6pt;"><span style="line-height: 115%; font-size: 14pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 12.0pt;"><span style="font-family: Souvenir;">Jo and I were lucky enough to sit with our friends Gwen and Lon from <a href="http://www.starlytesdream.com/" target="_blank"><strong>Starlytes Dream</strong> </a>who were vending their wares.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 6pt;"><span style="line-height: 115%; font-size: 14pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 12.0pt;"><span style="font-family: Souvenir;">As always, the Faire was a fun day but we couldn’t help noticing that the numbers of vendors and attendees were down compared to last year. The primary contributing factors were the weather (which wasn’t exactly wonderful) and the state of the economy, which is causing most people to hurt financially.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0in 6pt;"><span style="line-height: 115%; font-size: 14pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 12.0pt;"><span style="font-family: Souvenir;">At the risk of stating the obvious, the founders of the various pagan events that we are lucky enough to have worked very hard to make them a reality. Unless we all support these events, they will come to an end, and we won’t have anyone to blame but ourselves.</span></span></p>
