The new website is much sharper looking than the old one. To give an idea of just what has changed, here is a sampling. All the fonts have been changed. A multilayered emerald green lightning ball graphic was created as a source for all the tasteful borders throughout. A completely new banner was made using a papyrus background overlayed with a little emerald green lightning and with the ubiquitous emerald lightning border. The link buttons were made from scratch incorporating the emerald lightning border. Eagle-eyed readers will spot the “heka” hieroglyph used as bullet points on many pages.

According to Dr Geraldine Pinch, writing in Magic in Ancient Egypt, the word “heka” is normally translated as magic, which is a force possessed by all deities, supernatural beings, the forces of chaos, Egyptian kings, the dead, and unusual people such as dwarves.

At this stage, I envisage this blog covering discoveries that impact upon our understanding of ancient magick, religion and philosophy in the Mediterranean area. I’ll also be looking at events within the pagan community. As a member of the Board of Directors of Cherry Hill Seminary, I’ll be covering some of their important work. I also reserve the right to occasionally write something totally unrelated to any of the above.
